Don't Give Up

I'm going to bed.

It's been hectic since I returned from the UK, and I've gotten a lot of good feedback from those of you who were able (and many who weren't able) to endure the length and depth of my posts while on vacation.

I'll keep them short, and if I have ideas I'll draft them first to keep the ratio steady. Here's my brief update before I slam headfirst into my hotel bed:

Spent the first week back cleaning my house in preparation for a party I threw in my basement. My sister visited, we went to the Gorge, we went to the Saturday market, we threw a righteous house party (if you missed it, I'm sorry, there will be more and you are invited). Got sent to Salt Lake City on business, where I am operating on very little sleep and a distinct feeling of restlessness from knowing I need at least a weekend at home to return things to a reasonable state.

As far as pictures from my trip go, there is no easy way to say this so I'll just say it: they're aren't any. My cheap memory card corrupted itself while taking pictures of Buckingham Palace on the last day. Horribly disappointing? I'll miss the video I shot at the rave, that's for sure, but these days there are better pictures of everything I took online anyway (Geographic Web, anyone?). The main bummer is that I promised very specific shots of very specific experiences I endured. I'm confident I'll be able to uncover examples online, and I'll give it my best shot when I return to Stumptown for good. I've traded up for a better, bigger SD card and have been testing it extensively, only time will tell if it's up to the challenge of working as expected.

I'll close by saying that people in Salt Lake City are really nice. Really, really nice. I'm loving it, despite being trapped in an endless suburban office/restaurant park wasteland, to which the mountains are a lovely backdrop.

Don't give up on checking in with the ventures, it's about to get real.

...and thanks for reading!
